Historical reference

The Engineering Academy of Tajikistan was established in 1991, initially as a branch of the USSR Engineering Academy. On July 3, 1992, the academy was registered with the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Tajikistan as the Engineering Academy of the Republic of Tajikistan (IART).

IART is a public, scientific, technical, creative organization that unites, on an elective basis, the leading part of the republic’s scientists and engineers to strengthen ties between fundamental research, technical developments, advanced technologies and production in order to promote the sustainable economic development of Tajikistan.

IART is part of the International Academy of Engineering (IEA) and the Federation of Engineering Institutes of Islamic Countries. IART is a member of the Council of Public Accord of the Republic of Tajikistan.

IART is one of the leading engineering, technical and scientific associations of Tajikistan, which includes full members (academicians), corresponding members, academic advisers, doctors and candidates of science, honored workers of science and technology of Tajikistan, authors of numerous patents for inventions.

In the 90s, within the framework of IART, the Sugran group, led by academician A.V. Vakhobov, F.U. Obidov, A.H. Kataev, successfully worked on the analysis and production of high-purity aluminum. Under the leadership of full member of the IART K.A. Khasanova, director of the Institute of Human Ecology, environmental expeditions were organized to the areas of the Varzob, Tagob, and Zeravshan river basins in 1994 and 1995.

In 1995, IART organized and held an International Scientific Conference on the problems of the Aral Sea with the publication of the collection “Works of scientific, technical and engineering workers of the Republic of Tajikistan, dedicated to the 1100th anniversary of the Samanid state.”

IART became the initiator and organizer of the Republican conferences “Engineering problems of protection and rational use of water resources in Tajikistan” (October 25, 2003, Dushanbe).

Members of the Academy took an active part in organizing and conducting the International Conference “Pamir – a source of fresh water in Central Asia” (June 28-29, 2003, Khorog), as well as in the UN Forum “Year of Fresh Water 2003”, Dushanbe.

A Members of the sections “Ecology Engineering, Monitoring and Energy Saving” and “Engineering in Agro-Industry”, academicians of IART Abdusamadov M., Nuraliev K., corresponding member. Latipov R.B., Ikromov I.I., Kayumov A., Khasanov Kh.U., Akramov A.A. and others, since 2005 they have been actively working to implement the activities of the “Decade of Action “Water for Life”, 2005-2015”, announced by the UN General Assembly on December 23, 2003. at the proposal of the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon.

Academician of the IART Abdusalyamova M.N. led two ISTC projects: on the production of semiconductor crystals for transmitting energy over long distances (Project 1T-1597) and technology for processing gold ores (Project 1T-1598).

Academician IART Shermatov M. received 34 copyright certificates at the National Patent Information Center of the Republic of Tajikistan. Monographs, inventions, scientific, technical, methodological, and other developments of IART members are listed on the pages of the encyclopedia for each member of the Academy.
